Offering in-person and telehealth sessions, we are a Toowoomba-based psychological service dedicated to helping you discover more about yourself and to work towards your goals.
We create an individualised approach, using techniques from CBT, IPT, and Reality Therapy.
We’re experienced in helping children and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship and interpersonal challenges, with additional experience in trauma, addiction, and physical rehabilitation.

Assessment Clinic:
Specialist Assessment and Reports for Cognitive and Behavioural Conditions.
Our clinic specialises in Geriatric Cognitive and Memory Assessments (GCMA), ADHD testing for adults and children (6+ years), and learning disorders and conditions. We can also screen for ASD (full ASD testing to come).
These comprehensive tests provide clarity on conditions, strengths, and weaknesses across a range of cognitive and memory functions, helping individuals make informed changes to reach their goals and support daily tasks.

Meet your clinician, James Ryatt
James is a Registered Psychologist (Clinical Registrar) with a heart for helping individuals navigate life’s unique challenges and explore their identity so they can experience greater joy.
Outside of Joy Psychology, James works part-time at the Toowoomba Base Hospital, conducting mainly clinical assessments.

We’re located inside Emerald Kove, 86-88 Water Street South, Toowoomba. James or the friendly Emerald Kove staff will let you into the building before your appointment.
